| A place you will enjoy and relax. Paradise is how Captain James Cook described Norfolk Island in his log book when he discovered the uninhabited island in 1774. The later arrival of the Pitcairn people, descendants of the Bounty mutineers, provided a fresh dimension to Norfolk Island. They have maintained and cultivated their distinctive culture and language and preserved the rich history and natural magnificence of the Island.
One third of the island is devoted to national parks and reserves, which offer well-marked trails for bush-walking or mountain biking. |
